5-Day Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire National Park Budget Safari

Venture deep into the soul of Africa on a journey that links Kenya’s iconic reserves with Tanzania’s legendary parks. Witness the dramatic wildlife of the Maasai Mara, marvel at Lake Nakuru’s flamingo-fringed shores, and stand in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli. Cross into Tanzania to explore the endless Serengeti plains, descend into the wildlife-dense Ngorongoro Crater, and wander beneath the ancient baobabs of Tarangire. This cross-border safari blends raw adventure, unforgettable landscapes, and rich traditions into one epic experience.

DAY 1: ARUSHA TO LAKE MANYARA

Start your safari with breakfast in Arusha before meeting your guide for a scenic drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Arriving mid-morning, you’ll dive straight into a game drive through the park’s diverse ecosystems—home to baboons, hippos, flamingos, and the famous tree-climbing lions. The Rift Valley escarpment rises dramatically in the background, creating a stunning natural stage for wildlife viewing. As the sun dips behind the hills, continue to camp for dinner and a peaceful night under the stars.

DAY 2: LAKE MANYARA TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, head west toward the legendary Serengeti—Tanzania’s crown jewel of wildlife. The journey takes you through scenic highlands before reaching the park’s main gate. Once inside, the landscapes open into endless plains dotted with acacias and granite kopjes. Spend the afternoon on a thrilling game drive in search of lions, elephants, and herds of wildebeest. As the sky glows orange, arrive in Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight in the heart of the wild.

DAY 3: SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

Rise early and set out for a sunrise game drive, when predators are active and the golden light casts dramatic shadows across the plains. Track lions on the prowl, spot giraffes in the distance, and listen for the call of hyenas across the grasslands. Around midday, depart the Serengeti, with an optional visit to Olduvai Gorge—an iconic archaeological site (≈ $35). By evening, arrive at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where cool breezes and the sound of nature welcome you.

DAY 4: NGORONGORO CRATER TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most concentrated wildlife areas. Explore the lush crater floor in search of rhinos, lions, elephants, and flocks of flamingos. After a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, ascend the crater walls and drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds. Arrive in time for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by nature.

DAY 5: TARANGIRE TO ARUSHA

Begin your final safari day with a game drive along the life-giving Tarangire River. This landscape draws a wide array of animals—zebra, wildebeest, eland, and the iconic elephants of Tarangire. After a picnic lunch at one of the park’s serene viewpoints, enjoy a final drive through the park before returning to Arusha, where your unforgettable journey concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
