3-Day Savannah Spirit, The Heart Beat Of Maasai Mara

At the heart of Kenya’s allure is its world-renowned wildlife. The country is home to iconic national parks and reserves such as the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo, Samburu, and Lake Nakuru, where visitors can witness the Big Five alongside cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and the incredible Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras. Kenya also plays a key role in global conservation efforts and is home to the only remaining northern white rhinos at Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

DAY 1: NAIROBI TO MAASAI MARA

Leaving JKIA, the journey to Maasai Mara takes you through Nairobi’s outskirts into the scenic Great Rift Valley, where a stop at the viewpoint offers sweeping vistas of the valley floor and volcanic peaks. As you descend, the road winds through lush highlands, vibrant local towns like Narok, and into open savannahs dotted with acacia trees. Along the way, you may spot zebras or giraffes near the roadside, offering a glimpse of the wildlife-rich landscapes awaiting in the Mara. Upon arrival at your lodge in the Mara, check in, freshen up, have lunch then head out for an exciting evening game drive, where you may spot lions, elephants, and other wildlife as the sun sets over the golden plains.

DAY 2: MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Your full-day Maasai Mara safari begins with an early morning game drive at sunrise, the best time to spot predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. After a bush breakfast, continue exploring the vast savannah and Mara River, home to hippos, crocodiles. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild, followed by a relaxed afternoon drive to spot elephants, giraffes, and more. Optionally, visit a Maasai village for a cultural experience at an extra cost before ending the day with a scenic sundowner, a drink enjoyed as the sun sets over the plains, before returning to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3: RETURN IN NAIROBI

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at your lodge or camp in the Masai Mara, enjoying local and continental offerings like eggs, fresh fruit, pastries, and Kenyan tea or coffee. After breakfast, depart the reserve and begin the journey toward Nairobi, passing through rural landscapes, small towns, and expansive plains. Along the way, take a short break in Narok to rest and refresh before continuing the drive. The road offers beautiful scenery, including views of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The journey concludes as you arrive in Nairobi, transitioning from the peaceful wilderness of the Mara to the dynamic energy of Kenya’s capital city. Finally, arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, ready for your onward journey.
